GIRARD BENGALI, APC CELEBRATES SECOND ANNIVERSARY

Los Angeles, May 5, 2018 – This week, Girard Bengali, APC celebrated its second anniversary. 2017-2018 was another success-driven year for the Firm. Highlights of the Firm’s accomplishments over the past year include:

• In July, 2017, in what was hailed as a significant victory in the fight against elder financial abuse, Girard Bengali, APC obtained an award of over $1,800,000 against Wedbush Securities and its broker for the Firm’s elderly clients, with more than $1 million representing punitive damages awarded pursuant to the California Elder Abuse and Adult Civil Protective Act (Welfare & Institutions Code 15600, et seq.).
• In November, 2017, Girard Bengali, APC filed a major lawsuit against the ride-sharing service Uber, arising out of the rape and sexual assault of one of the Firm’s female clients. The case was one of those featured by CNN in its April 30, 2018 story regarding Uber drivers accused of sexual assault. The matter is still pending before the Los Angeles Superior Court.
• In 2018, Robert J. Girard II and Omar Bengali, founding partners of Girard Bengali, APC, were both recognized again by their peers for their professional achievements. Mr. Girard was selected for inclusion in the 2018 list of Super Lawyers, a designation given to no more than 5% of the attorneys in California. This is Mr. Girard’s fourth straight year being named a Super Lawyer. Mr. Bengali was selected for inclusion in the 2018 list of Southern California Rising Stars by Super Lawyers, a designation earned by less than 2.5% of attorneys under the age of 40. This was Mr. Bengali’s third time receiving this honor.
