Girard Bengali Files Sexual Battery and Assault Complaint Against Garth Brooks
In collaboration with Wigdor LLP, Girard Bengali, APC has filed a significant sexual assault and battery complaint against Grammy-winning country music star Garth Brooks. The allegations come from our client, Jane Roe, a professional makeup artist, who claims that Brooks took advantage of her financial hardship, leveraging his position to repeatedly subject her to unwanted advances and physical assault.
As detailed in the complaint, Ms. Roe experienced a period of financial difficulty, during which Brooks, aware of her vulnerability, began hiring her more frequently. However, what began as professional support devolved into repeated incidents of sexual assault and battery, with Brooks allegedly using his wealth and influence to coerce Ms. Roe and silence her.
In an effort to prevent Ms. Roe’s complaint from being filed publicly, Brooks initiated a preemptive lawsuit in federal court in Mississippi, hoping to mask his identity and shift the proceedings away from her planned California filing. The complaint states that Brooks’s actions serve as a stark example of the exploitation of power and trust, often seen in high-profile cases within the entertainment industry.
