Girard Bengali, APC and Wigdor LLP File Sexual Battery and Rape Complaint Against Grammy-Nominated Producer Leland T. “Metro Boomin” Wayne
In collaboration with Wigdor LLP, Girard Bengali, APC has filed a significant complaint alleging that Grammy-nominated producer Leland T. “Metro Boomin” Wayne committed sexual battery and rape against our client, Vanessa LeMaistre. The allegations state that Ms. LeMaistre, who met Wayne shortly after a personal tragedy, was assaulted in 2016 during a visit to his studio. Wayne is accused of leveraging his public image and influence in hip-hop to facilitate behavior that Ms. LeMaistre asserts is part of a broader, misogynistic pattern.
About the Case
Leland T. Wayne, known professionally as “Metro Boomin,” has achieved recognition through collaborations with artists like Future and 21 Savage, and for his work on soundtracks, including “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.” The complaint suggests that Wayne’s social media posts and lyrics demonstrate a concerning attitude toward women, underscoring a pattern that extends beyond his music.
Statement from Attorneys
“Metro Boomin has used his platform to promote offensive language and imagery that suggests harm toward women, and it’s time he is held accountable,” state attorneys Michael J. Willemin, Monica Hincken, Omar H. Bengali, and Robert J. Girard II.
